EXPOSING PHONIES AND WHY WE DO IT Many people ask why we spend so much time exposing fake SEALs. Well, here is a comparison that you may well understand.
Most of you have heard of the Blue Angels and understand what their mission is - the recruitment of Naval Aviators and generally giving a good image of Naval Aviation, as a whole. We are impressed by their aerobatic maneuvers and the sharp paint jobs on their planes. The men are very well groomed and military in appearance in every respect. I'll bet the last time you went to an air show, you felt very patriotic to see all those nice looking young men flying multi-million dollar machines with such precision. The bands were playing, the flags were flying, smoke emanated from the aircrafts' smoke generators as they passed over the field doing aerobatic stunts that impress all onlookers. THEN CAME THE TAIL HOOK SCANDAL. Now, how do you suppose that affected the image of the Naval Aviator? How many young men and women who were thinking of joining the Navy and becoming pilots were put off by the activities of a few who were just having the same type of 'good time' they had been having for many years? It costs millions of dollars to train military pilots. They put their lives on the line every time they climb up into the cockpit of a plane, yet if they have a few too many drinks or have 'too much fun' they are chastised and demeaned and referred to as sex maniacs, etc. They are trained to bomb and strafe targets that often include people. They are warriors!!
Now take the SEALs: These young men are trained to a razor's edge in skills having to do with close quarters battle, demolitions, intelligence gathering, language, prisoner handling, insertion, parachuting, diving, submarine operations, and numerous other specialized areas of expertise. They are in harm's way more often than the civilian public ever gets to know about. They don't hang out in bars and brag about being able to kill people with their bare hands, and all that other stuff seen on television. They work hard, train hard, and sometimes play hard. Recruitment into their ranks is difficult these days, and retention of experienced operators is becoming a problem.
Then comes the phony SEAL to steal their image and pollute it with tales of death and destruction, often gleaned from the silver screen or the tube. Movie stars portray the SEALs as killers of babies and super humans who can fall off two story buildings without serious injury. ALL of them are experts in hand to hand combat. So the phonies make up stories like those they see on TV. They hang out in bars and brag about their imagined exploits. Many of them are felons or other undesirables who would never have been able to get qualified to go to training, let alone make it through. Daughters of citizens are lied to by these fakes, and the fact they are phony is not known to the parents. Sisters are taken advantage of, and people are threatened with 'I was a SEAL and I can kill you with one blow,' etc. Parents of young men think these phonies are the real thing and discourage their young sons from seeking a career in what might be the best opportunity there is for serving our country.
I think you understand what I am saying. A dollar spent on busting a phony is like a thousand dollars spent on recruiting new blood. Keep the honor and make sure these bastards don't steal any of it.
So please don't hesitate to blow the whisle on these scum. Send your information here.
Thanks
